Prayer Letter – October 2019

Dear Friends,
October 15 is almost here! I am finalizing details for moving to Romania!
My ministry is now fully supported at 100%! I am grateful to all of you who faithfully pray for and support my ministry!
Some of you have supported my ministry from the earliest days when I served as the Silent Word Ministries home-office missionary; when I studied linguistics, cultural studies, and Bible translation at Baptist Bible Translator’s Institute in Texas; and when I embarked on deputation to build a financial base and prayer support. God taught me a lot in each of these seasons of ministry. I look forward to what God will do in coming days of ministry in Eastern Europe!
When I arrive in Romania, I will start the process of obtaining a visa. (Visas are applied for after arriving in the country.) The church that I will be working with is in Timisoara, one of the largest cities in Romania. God has already provided an apartment for me which is close to both language school and church. Language School starts on November 4. Please pray for God’s grace and power in learning Romanian! This will be my first time learning a second language (besides American Sign Language). After learning the Romanian spoken language, I will work to learn Romanian Sign Language (Limbaj Mimico-Gestual Romanesc or LMGR). I am excited about learning both Romanian and LMGR!
Thank you to all who prayed for me as I worked to complete paperwork needed for moving, finished my deputation speaking engagements and attended SWM’s annual Missions Retreat and SWMI’s week of discipleship teaching and training! It’s been a busy and good time!
Praises:
  • Gained six new supporting churches!
  • One supporting church bought a nice voice recorder for me to use in language school!
  • Another supporting church gave the cost of shipping my books to Romania!
Prayer Requests:
  • Wisdom in learning and adapting within Romanian culture
  • Wisdom in applying the Word while living in a different culture
  • Grace and understanding as I study the Romanian language
  • Good communication and partnership with the missionaries I serve
  • Five more laborers to give their lives to reach the deaf in Romania
I am thankful for each one of you and for the part you have in this work!
For His Glory,
Nicole Condra
